Would you prefer to receive a unicycle, bicycle, tricycle or motorcycle? Since I have no balance, I guess I will settle for the tricycle, but I’d really like a motorcycle. Maybe I could get one of those cool Trike motorcycles.

What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this year? To get through the year without another mental break. That would go a long way for me to accomplish my other goals.

What was one of the highlights of 2016 for you? Being a Bernie Sanders supporter. For an Independent, socialist leaning progressive, he was a breath of fresh air.

Would you prefer to fly a kite or fly in a hot air balloon? Since I am scared of heights, I would have to fly a kite, but oh how I wish I could go up in a hot air balloon.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? My sister showed up days after Christmas and brought a nasty bug into the house. For once, I didn’t get sick. Unfortunately, my dad and brother did.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  Settling into my new routines, working on my cleansing fast, and engaging with others.

What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor? Caramel Delight

If you were to treat yourself to the “finer things” what would you treat yourself to? I would probably travel, spend time in places like India, Ireland, Scotland, London, Paris, Rome, the Greek Isles, Moscow, Tokyo, Africa. So many places I would love to visit and could only do so if I could afford those “finer things” of life.

Have you ever been drunk? Oh gods yes. I think I spent my late teens and early 20s completely drunk.

Complete this sentence: My favorite supposedly guilty pleasure is… watching Tom Cruise movies. He is my dirty little secret.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? Spending time with family over Christmas

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I’ve taken three days off, so I will be looking forward to doing some journal writing, working on my newest story and plotting next year’s projects.

What is your favorite holiday? Samhain

What types of food is associated with your holiday? Candy, apples, bread, cakes, Black Spider Stew (my recipe, a take on Irish Stew – no, there are no spiders in it)

Do you travel for your holiday? just around the neighborhood, dropping apples around trees for the dead

Is it a religious or spiritual holiday? spiritual for the most part

Is there a gift exchange? not really, at least not now since I am not around others who celebrate Samhain

How long does the celebration last? Two days and two nights, Oct 31-Nov 1

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? My great-niece’s leg had only a minor break, she has a lovely neon pink cast and is in great spirits.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Prepping for Christmas dinner with my brother.

What is your favorite smell? Fresh baked bread. What memory does it remind you of? Family holidays as a child. Mom always made fresh baked rolls and cinnamon rolls during the holidays. It also reminds me of the time I went to NY with my then-partner and we visited that great bakery in Brooklyn.

What type of pet do you have or want to have? Currently, I have no pets, but I always love cats and would love one – a female calico would be nice, or a black male kitten. I’d also like to have a dog or two. Perhaps a Great Dane or an English Pointer. And some skinks (little lizards) would be nice too.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time? I am almost always early. I hate to be late and being right on time can sometimes be off, especially if the other person is late. If I am early to whatever or with whomever, I can always size up my environment and psyche myself up for whatever may take place.

For recharging, would you rather meditate, swim, walk, listen to music, write, read, yoga, qigong other? Meditation, yoga, reiki, reading, taking a walk, listening to music, and writing usually recharge me. If I had to pick just one activity, it would be meditation.

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week? My health finally improved and I was able to finish my Seeing You paranormal mystery novella (just over 52K, I am so proud!)

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?  Relaxing. I have no major writing projects to worry about, Christmas is still 12 days away, and there’s little else to do. I do plan on finishing a book I’ve been reading for a book review, but reading is also relaxing for me.

What do you value most in a friendship? I am very picky about friendships. I’ve been burned more times than I care to mention by so-called friends. It’s usually because I am quiet and a people-pleaser so people tend to take advantage of me. What I really value in friendship is for the person to get to know me and my quirky ways. That is vitally important because they need to learn a few things about me – I am quiet, not shy. I prefer silence or small intimate gatherings. I don’t do extreme noise well, large crowds, nor can I stand to be around someone who is overly chatty. I prefer in-person contact, emails or online chat devices to the telephone. I hate telephones with a passion. And if someone makes a promise to me, I expect them to keep it. Too often ‘friends’ in the past would promise a visit or an outing and break it for something they deem more important. If I am not important enough to keep a date with, then we are not friends. I do allow exceptions like personal illness or family emergencies. I am not a total bitch.

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first?  Do you prefer a specific flavor? I prefer the cake first and save the icing for last, so I usually eat the cupcake from the bottom up. I like chocolate or lemon cupcakes and icing.

Have you ever been in a submarine?  If you haven’t, would you want to? No, I’ve never been in a submarine, nor would I want to be. I am claustrophobic and don’t do tight spaces well. I would need lots of space and a way to get outdoor air far too often.

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours? So, people who are 50, hmmm. Probably 75% of them. Not to say that my life isn’t satisfying for me. Sure, there are things I wish I could and would be doing right now in my life, but with my health, it’s just not possible. But if those 75% have healthier lifestyles and are in good health, I am sure they are still doing the things they love to do. I cannot even go on long walks these days. The neuropathy in my feet prevents it.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? That I listened to the advice of the doctors and took some time to get over pneumonia – time away from the computer and my writing schedule.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? To finally finish my paranormal story, Seeing You and start planning writing projects for 2017.

Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?  I love nuts, but recent dental work now prevents me from enjoying them.

If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction? How about a dramedy? Some parts are pure drama and others so hilariously funny as to not seem real.

Who talks real sense to you? These days? No one. I am the only progressive, liberal, democratic socialist in my entire family and none of the right-wingers in my family make any sense to me. Outside of my family, the only ones talking sense are people like Thom Hartmann, Jimmy Dore, Bill Maher, Sam Seder, and those like them.

Do you have a favorite board game? Normally, I don’t play games, but an ex-bf of mine introduced me to a game called Empire Builder and I fell in love with it. Got pretty good at playing it too.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? Spending time with my family during Thanksgiving.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Hopefully better health. I’ve been ill one way or another this entire month and it would be nice to just feel better for a change. I also hope to finish my paranormal story.

When do you feel most connected with others? When I am communicating with them via written correspondence – be it an email, a messenger program or a hand-written letter. I can express myself better this way and my internal chatter doesn’t get in the way of my writing like it does if someone is speaking to me.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life? Walking each day. I do this sporadically, but would love to make it a daily habit.

What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week? The Indigo Girls will be in concert nearby. I would love to have the money to see them, but it just isn’t going to happen this time.

List at least of things or events that changed your Life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person?

  1. Losing two babies during my first trimesters and being told I would never carry one to full term.
  2. Going back to college at age 25
  3. Meeting my Reiki Master in 1994
  4. Reading The House of Breath by William Goyen
  5. Reading Confessional Poets Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath and John Berryman
  6. Seeing Neil Diamond and Prince in concert in 1995 & 1996, respectively
  7. Meeting and marrying my second husband, Matt in 2001 (not all of it was good, but definitely life changing)
  8. Moving to Tulsa OK in 2005
  9. Finding out that I had uterine cancer in 2012
  10. Leaving my husband and moving back home to VA in 2014

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? Wow, I barely remember last week. Nothing major occurred that I can recall. I guess I am grateful that I recognized the need for a day off and took one on Friday.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? hopefully getting the garden planted and having the creative flow to keep writing

You win a pet monkey but this isn’t just any old monkey. It can do one trick for you whenever you want from getting a pop out of the fridge to washing your hair. What would be the trick? I would train him to correlate my printings and file stuff for me. That would save me a lot of time. I would keep fruit handy to reward him for his efforts.

What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today? I actually did some meditation before starting my day today. It’s the first meditation I’ve done in a couple of weeks. Later, I plan to take a long hot shower before bed.

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing? Black, deep purple or burgundy.

Complete this sentence:  When I travel I love to…. find a quiet place away from the crowds and just sit looking at the scenery, listening to the sounds and soaking in the atmosphere.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? Wednesday began a cycling of moods for me – deeply depressed, mildly okay, depressed, okay. Thankfully, the cycle has ended for the moment.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Doing some more writing, trying to catch up on the blogs I need to read, and shopping on Friday.

Who was your best friend in elementary school?  My best friend was a girl named Crystal. She lived on the outskirts of town, from over the railroad tracks. We only got to spend time together while in school because her mother was very strict and wanted her home immediately after school. We were both outcasts in school. Crystal had learning disabilities and I was a bookworm. We bonded because we were both picked on and harassed in school.

What things could people do for you on a really bad day that would really help you? Leave me alone. Just let me go off and be by myself. Eventually the dark mood lifts. However, if someone constantly prods me to ‘help’ me, it has the opposite effect. It usually ends up irritating me to the point I will lash out, generally verbally.

If you could make a 15 second speech to the entire world, what would you say? Stop looking at what divides us and starting looking at what makes us all similar.

Would you rather be an amazing dancer or an amazing singer? Dancer. I always wanted to study ballet as a child, but I was too clumsy.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? That the A2Z is over. Too much happened during April and although I enjoyed the A2Z, I probably should have backed out of it and just took the month off.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Doing some writing and reading.

Name one thing not many people know about you. I once had piercings that I had to remove for a mammogram and just never put them back in.

If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do? Take a trip to India

Where do you hide junk when people come over? *laughs* not many places to hide things around here, but I do toss some things behind my Lazy-boy

Complete this sentence:  I want to learn more about … archaeology. It has always fascinated me.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? All of the lovely bloggers who’ve stopped by my blogs and left comments.
