The Sandbox Writing Challenge #10 — What are they hearing about you?

What are they hearing about you?

The top left has probably just been told about some poetry magazine that’s accepted my work. She looks excited and seems to have two phones up to her ears. Probably hearing it from me and one other friend. Though, this is doubtful. Neither of my friends could give a crap if I published a poem, even though they are both poets.

The lower left has probably heard the same stories about me over and over again from family. Your aunt was never there. She always did her own thing. She had multiple lovers both male and female, blah blah blah. I am sure he is sick of hearing it all for the millionth time.

The one on the right has probably just learned that I am interested in her (she is my type *wickedgrin*) and she doesn’t know whether to be insulted or flattered. She’s probably flattered, but would turn me down if I asked her out.

The Daily Me (Journal) Judgement – 12/29/16

Today’s prompt comes from 100 Inspirational Journal Prompts by Melissa Bolton @ The Mogul Mom

What characteristics do you judge the most harshly in others?

I’d love to be able to say that I don’t judge others, but it would be a bold-faced lie. It’s not that I go out to deliberately judge others, but there are just some things that I find vulgar and repulsive and they do force me to judge others over it.

Since I am mostly a serious person, I detest people who act childish all the time. A bit of childishness once in a while is fine, but never taking responsibility and being constantly childish, rubs me the wrong way.

I don’t like people who are crass. It’s not that they can’t be sensitive to others, it’s that they don’t want to be. They are deliberately distasteful, tactless and witless, like wearing a badge of honor to see how cruel and demeaning they can be.

I cannot abide by people who are disrespectful, inconsiderate, and intolerant. These characteristics usually go hand-in-hand and are usually shown toward people of color, the LGBTQ  and women by bigots, misogynists and racists.

Small-thinking, narrow-mindedness and exclusivity are other traits that I find repulsive. I just want to shake people who show these characteristics and expand their minds. Not everyone has to live in their little selfish bubbles.

My Daily Tarot – The Magician

12/29/16 – The Magician

The Magician’s message is one of discipline and responsibility. You have the power within your self to accomplish whatever you wish. You have the necessary tools at your disposal. Focus your will and hone your skills.

Be aware of control and manipulation. Power can blind you to what is appropriate. Keep in mind the negative stereotype of the Magician as a charlatan or a swindler.

I see what you are doing, Tarot. I know you’ve been digging around in my secret spots, nosing about in my computer files. It’s okay. I expect you to be in the know. How else can you guide me?

Yes, I am about to embark on two separate journeys at once. Each will need me to focus my will and hone my skills. One deals with my health and the other my writing. I am determined to turn them both around and I hope I have the discipline and willpower to do them both. Not sure I am so responsible; there may be a bit of a charlatan within me.
