Today I am celebrating a day late because I took the entire day off from blogging yesterday. I haven’t had a real day off (except when the power was off from a storm or my internet provider was down for a bit) since January. I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster for a few weeks now and really just needed some down time. It felt good to just unwind, recharge and ground myself for a day.
I am also celebrating the reconnect with a very old friend, someone I haven’t seen in nearly 30 years. In my late teens, she was a huge part of my life and often gave me spiritual advice and hope. We met in an unlikely place, the exit at Walmart. During our brief conversation, we both acknowledged that neither of us had wanted to go shopping yesterday, but felt compelled to just go anyway. I don’t think it was mere chance that we met up again after so many years. I am sure it was fate. We exchanged numbers and I hope to see her again soon.
And finally, I am celebrating that I have rededicated myself to the low carb lifestyle. After being off of it for two months, I saw how quickly my body descended back into the health issues that I had prior to beginning the low carb lifestyle last August. I witnessed the return of elevated blood sugar readings, body aches and mood swings. So along with taking a day off yesterday to regroup, I went back to the low carb lifestyle. This is even harder to transition back to this time than it was in August. I am such a carboholic and with any addiction, falling off the wagon and getting back on again is tough, but I am determined to stick with it this time.
What are you celebrating this week, dear readers? Feel free to share with me in comments.
Each Friday, I join Lexa Cain and friends for a weekly blog-hop called Celebrate the Small Things, where we celebrate all of those small moments from the week before.

I’m glad you said that about the carbs. I read your comments to Drollery. We really need to get ourselves on that trail…
My pleasure, Calen… if you’d like, I have a blog all about low carb lifestyle.. I haven’t updated it for a while, but there are tons of resources on there that could help you both: https://myfatlossjourneyonlchf.wordpress.com/
Thanks. I’ll look at it when I get a minute.
Welcome hun… sure thing 🙂
I’m a day late posting, too. That’s wonderful how you bumped into your old friend. I think things like that happen for a reason. I hope she can help you now as much as she did back then. Good luck getting back into your diet plan. Sticking with something like that is definitely hard. (Speaking from experience here.) Glad you took some time off for yourself. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you, Lori… yes, I think she will definitely be able to help me. Hope your weekend has been a good one too!
Funny how Walmart can be like that. So wonderful that you met up with your friend again! And nice to see you again after the break–sometimes one simply needs to pull back and realign.
Thank you Tonja 🙂
I think you and your friend meeting was a divine appointment. Maybe you met so she can help you with your journey as she did in the past.
Yes, I think you are right Patricia… it was definitely meant to be 🙂
I’m so glad to hear your new diet helped you and hope you stick to it this time around. So freaky about meeting your old friend like that! I hope you see her again soon. Yay for time off to re-charge — we all need more of that. Have a lovely weekend! 🙂
Thank you, Lexa… it really was great to see her and I hope you’ve had a great weekend too 🙂
What a wonderful synchronicity, bumping into your friend! Hope your diet plan is working out for you too 🙂
Thanks, Raili.. stuff like that happens to me all the time though.. and I am back on track! Feeling so much better already 🙂
Excellent, glad to hear it! I have a lot of synchronicities too, some more delightful than others.
Oh yes, not all of mine have been pleasant either
