Celebrate the Small Things – 05.06.16

Celebrate blog hop

Today I am celebrating that Celebrate the Small Things falls on a Friday and not yesterday. I was in a deep, dark funk yesterday and wouldn’t have felt like celebrating anything but my bed. Today, the mood has lifted some and I am feeling much better.

I am also celebrating more writing projects. This month, I am writing a story a day throughout the month of May and am almost a week into it. It feels strange to just write general fiction after writing science fiction for a month. I’ve also decided to begin writing a memoir, so that should be different and hopefully exciting at the same time.

I’d like to be celebrating in the garden, but it has been uber chilly the last few days, raining and just generally blah. The weather should improve beginning tomorrow, so hopefully we can get some plants in the ground soon.

There’s not much else to celebrate right now. I would like to wish all of the Mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day. I am not a mother and my own has passed on, so celebrate for me. Will ya? *smiles*

What are you celebrating this week, dear readers? Feel free to share with me in comments.

Each Friday, I join Lexa Cain and friends for a weekly blog-hop called Celebrate the Small Things, where we celebrate all of those small moments from the week before.

The wonderful co-hosts of Celebrate the Small Things are:
L.G. Keltner @ Writing Off The Edge
Tonja Drecker @ Kidbits Blog

  1. It’s amazing how the weather can effect our moods. Sorry you’ve been a bit blah, hopefully you are much better now. And a story a day sounds like an interesting challenge.

    • Thanks, Suzanne.. I am feeling a bit better mentally, but my creative spark seems to have fizzled out some.. the story a day is a fun challenge. I am enjoying it 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  2. So many wonderful things to celebrate. I’m letting my garden rest this winter (Australian winter), but I also love pottering in the backyard with my veggies.

  3. I’m glad you’re feeling better. We had dreary rainy weather all last week, too. I just kept telling myself that it was okay because we really needed the rain, but sunshine definitely puts me in a better mood.
A story a day — wow, that’s amazing. Good for you getting all that writing done! Best of luck with your memoir! I hope that writing it brings you peace.

  4. Lori, the weather can affect one’s mood, can’t it? Our weather has been cool and gray the past few days, too. My whole system is trying to recover from OTC allergy medicines which doesn’t work well with intestines causing me to become dehydrated despite drinking plenty of water. AND on top of this I developed three fever blisters on my upper lip. OUCH! It looked like someone socked me in the mouth. I’m celebrating today that my lip is looking much better. I aggressively applied Abreva all week and each night before bed I wiped my lip off with hydrogen peroxide. I normally only use the Abreva, but the combo seemed to speed the healing faster this time. It was prettier and warmer today, but I stayed indoors. My back is achy, no doubt a reaction from the allergy meds, which limits my mobility. 😦 Tomorrow is a new day, so hopefully I’ll feel better. Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

  5. You’re welcome. I know what it’s like to be discouraged. But fortunately everything changes in time and we always have chances to restart.

  6. So sorry you’ve had the blahs. I know it’s not fun and dreary weather doesn’t help. But you made progress with your writing so that’s very good. Every day gives you a chance for a new start. 🙂
    Have a lovely week.
