04.11.16 – End of Day Notes

What I did today: I managed to get a few things accomplished today between naps. These allergies pills are keeping me sleepy.

I did read quite a few A2Z blogs today, but kept forgetting to keep track of them. I hope everyone knows that I enjoy their creative A2Zs and I am trying to leave comments for everyone that I read. Here are just a few that I kept track of today:

  • This touching post on special needs children and their teachers via Mike @ Mike’s Ramblings
  • An informative post about dog rescue and how to handle the immensity of it all via Guilie @ Life In Dogs
  • A fascinating telling about the creatures known as ITTAN MOMEN and ISO OONA via Djinnia @ DJINNIA and the ENGLISH LANGUAGE

What I learned today: allergy meds + grogginess = a very forgetful me

What I am most proud of today: I am still having sinus headaches, sleep doesn’t seem to help, and steaming only helps for a few minutes, but despite the headaches, I am still trying to get around to everyone.

What did you do today, dear readers? Learn any lessons? Have a reason to be proud? Share your thoughts with me in the comments!

Creative Questions 8 – Gifts

CQ 8: Please share a gift that you’ve received and one that you’ve given?

This is a difficult question for me. I don’t receive many gifts. Usually only on Christmas and even then not very often.

My ex-husband did gift me with all 5 seasons plus all of the movies of Babylon 5 a few months back, but they had previously been gifts I’d given him. Still, it was lovely since he knows how much I love that show.

His sister, Thea, gifted me with a lovely book a while back, but I haven’t had time to read it yet.

My friend, Lisa, gifted me with an adult coloring book for Christmas. It was a lovely idea, but I haven’t had time to color recently.

I am enjoying the gift of friendship from Annette, my newest friend. She is a lovely woman and we have so much in common.

As for gifts I’ve given… well, I don’t give gifts often anymore either. The last one I recall giving was a small pendant of a butterfly to my friend Lisa for her birthday back in November.

Oh, I gave my grand-nieces some lovely stones on their last visit and their mom, my niece, a beautiful black shirt with lace.

I am on such a tight budget these days that I cannot really afford to give presents. I do try to give my time more often to people now than I have in years past.

Thank you, Kate for another thought provoking question!

How about you, dear readers? When was the last time you gave or received a gift? Share your thoughts with me in comments.

Share Your World – 2016 Week 15

For Cee’s Share Your World

Name one thing not many people know about you. I once had piercings that I had to remove for a mammogram and just never put them back in.

If a distant uncle dies and you were always his favorite and leaves you $50,000 (any currency) in his will, what would you do? Take a trip to India

Where do you hide junk when people come over? *laughs* not many places to hide things around here, but I do toss some things behind my Lazy-boy

Complete this sentence:  I want to learn more about … archaeology. It has always fascinated me.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week? All of the lovely bloggers who’ve stopped by my blogs and left comments.

and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? Reading more A2Z bloggers’ posts and catching up with some friends’ blogs.

#atozchallenge – Eddie Izzard Inspires Me

img-thing

Eddie-Izzard-To-Join-The-PlayStation-Network-SuperheroMost people would categorize me as a serious person, not one to smile often, nor easily amused. What most people find funny, I generally find childish, ridiculous, and often just down-right stupid. I tend to drift toward dry and British humor (I also enjoy clever literary, scientific and math humor). To me, there is just something more intelligent about them. I guess that makes me a bit of a snob, but oh well. One comedian that I just adore is Eddie Izzard. This man can make me laugh no matter how depressed I may be. I first discovered him back in the early 2000s. I’d been watching PBS and there was an advertisement for one of his shows. I laughed myself silly watching his antics. The first of his shows that I saw was Dress to Kill. His skits on Cake or Death, Religion, and Languages just tickled me to death! I went on to watch everything I could find on him. Eddie reminds me to take time to laugh. To see the humour in ordinary things. You could say, he lightened my mood and made me a much less serious human being. Here are a few of his shows courtesy of YouTube:

Interesting Facts: Izzard considers himself a transvestite. He supports the British Labour Party. He is also an actor, writer, and humanitarian. And in early February of this year, he declared that he would run 27 marathons in 27 days, through South Africa for Sport Relief,  to commemorate the number of years that Nelson Mandela spent in jail; he completed his first marathon on 23 February.
