#WeekendCoffeeShare – 03.12.16

newcoffee

If we were having coffee, I would serve you a nice cup of French Roast and some flaky, buttery croissants with blackberry jam. We would sit outside on the front porch in the late afternoon sun and rock as we chatted, ate and drank our coffee. It’s a glorious day here in SW Virginia. Slightly cloudy with the sun peeking out now and again.

If we were having coffee, I would apologize for not inviting you over last Saturday.

“I was a miserable mess,” I would explain. “Still am, truthfully.”

I would explain how I have either a cold or an allergy flare-up. I can never be sure this time of year. I end up taking both allergy pills and cold medicine and they leave me a groggy mess. Add bouts of insomnia to that and I walk around like a zombie.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you how excited I am for April to get here, and how I have over-committed myself again, which is nothing unusual for me. I’ve signed up not only to do two A2Z blogs, but also two poetry challenges and a journal writing challenge.

“Yes, I really must be insane,” I would tell you with a slight laugh. But the joke really is on me. I will struggle all April with the worry of failure looming over my head.

And finally, I would let you go as it is getting late in the afternoon and I am sure you have other things to do. Thank you for having coffee and a chat. I will see you next week, I would assure you.

If we were having coffee, what would YOU tell me? Let me know in comments!

This delightful coffee share is brought to you by Part-Time Monster and friends.

  1. Five challenges?! Most months I can barely make it through one!
I am content now though, with the way I have things going. I schedule three posts on the one blog, one each on two others and I’m good. That gives me freedom to post more if I want but the posts still get out there if I’m uninspired or just don’t have the time.
    Nummy, thanks for the coffee.

  2. Thank you for the croissant and tea. You amaze me with all the blogs you plan to write. Tomorrow we will have an extra hour of light in the evenings, but mornings will be darker.

  4. Hi, Lori! I would thank you for the coffee and croissant we would sit quietly looking at the world through SW Virgina’s nature’s blessings.
I would tell you I am glad to see you and I don’t care if you are a mess. We would talk about you overdoing yourself in April. I would let you know that you do not have to do my guest author post if you would like you can take that off your plate. I would go on and on about everything to do with A to Z challenge. And I know we would have to have more coffee. We would forget the time and start drinking coke then we realize I must be going or I will miss my flight. I came just to see you and hear your thoughts. Thanks for the coffee my friend it has been such a delight. I tell you goodbye we squeeze each other tight. I whisper to you I am coming next weekend I don’t care if I am not invited because I already booked the flight. This causes us to burst into laughter and I disappear out of sight!

What's on your mind? Let me know!
