Celebrate the Small Things – 03.11.16

Celebrate blog hop

Today I am celebrating…

My good friend Annette has made me a Guest Author on her blog Annette’s Place. We’ve only known one another for a little over a month, but we’ve clicked amazingly well. Her blog is a motivational one where she explores topics of love, peace, joy and yes, motivation. I’ve yet to make a guest post there, but feel free to stop by her blog and see what all she’s been up to there.

I am also celebrating 11 installments to my Noir-style Mystery, The Stacked Deck. I am having a great time with my lead character, Jack Diamond. He’s a hard-nosed PI and ex-cop with a passion for Italian women. Feel free to stop by and have a read. Each part is a quick read, none over 1500 words.

And finally, I am celebrating the return of Spring! We’ve had gloriously sunshiny days in the high 70s here in Virginia the past few days. The nights have been in the high 50s and I’ve been sleeping with the window open. Probably hasn’t helped this cold/allergy thing I have going on, but the cool night air sure feels good on my burning feet.

It’s time for more coffee and more writing… Will see you all next week for more celebrations!

What are you celebrating this week, dear readers? Feel free to share with me in comments.

Each Friday, I join Lexa Cain and friends for a weekly blog-hop called Celebrate the Small Things, where we celebrate all of those small moments from the week before.

  2. Hi my friend! I missed you today. I want to just celebrate with you. You accomplish great things in your writing projects and that has inspired me to write more fiction. So, I celebrate our friendship and fiction writing because it awakens my brain. I had some time with my youngest and it is nice to bond with him as an adult. I celebrate that my kids are grown and I can still see and talk to them. Weather is a bit nippy here still and spring showers have begun. I stepped in a puddle while getting in the car. My feet soaked and I forgot my coat in the house. I normally let crap like that change my attitude for a bit. Instead, I just tilted my head to the sky and stuck out my tongue. Letting the rain hit my open mouth along with the rest of me. I thought “rain come on into my body and cleanse my spirit” I giggled at myself and got in the car wet and smiling! I celebrate Spring showers.

Ok, that all came out of nowhere!! That is me random and quirky! Till next time love and respect, Annette

  3. Congrats on the guest blogging! Getting so far along in your writing is definitely a thing to celebrate too. I find writing male characters difficult, so I’m already impressed. And yay to warmer weather. I guess Spring is on its way after all.

    • Thank you, Tonja! I don’t really have problems with male characters for some reason… most of my main characters end up being men for some odd reason. Have a great weekend!

  4. Congrats on finishing part 11 of your PI novel! It’s so important to enjoy writing your characters since you have to spend a lot of time with them, what with months of writing and revising. Honestly, I always have trouble writing my male MCs, but I combat that with supporting characters who’re funny and easy to write. Yay for spring – and I love sleeping with my windows open too, even with allergies. Have a great weekend!

    • Thanks Lexa 🙂 I am loving my MC.. he is fun to write. Eventually, I will go back and revise this and add in more stuff, but for now, I am just free-writing it and letting what comes come 🙂 Thank you for the support! Have a great weekend too hun 🙂
