03.11.16 – End of Day Notes

What I did today: It was a busy day. I stayed up writing and finally went to bed about 5 am. I was back up by 10:30 am. Went shopping around noon. Bought an adorable tea mug with dogs on it, a new alarm clock, and groceries. Took a nap shortly after I got home. Ate dinner. Watched a movie called Franklyn, which was incredibly amazing. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should! Then I watched… wait for it… World War Z. Yes, a zombie movie *shudders* but this was not like most zombie movies and there was eye candy by way of Brad Pitt in it. I was surprised at how well done it was and it only frightened me once *phew* On a less interesting note, I still feel like crap and am not getting many other writing projects done besides my main three. *sighs*

What I learned today: My brother gets a thrill out of scaring me. He did so three times while I was watching the zombie movie.

What I am most proud of today:  I didn’t fight the lady at the grocers for the last bag of organic avocados. I wanted to, really I did, but I took the conventional avocados instead.

What did you do today? Learn any lessons? Have a reason to be proud? Share your thoughts with me in the comments!

Celebrate the Small Things – 03.11.16

Celebrate blog hop

Today I am celebrating…

My good friend Annette has made me a Guest Author on her blog Annette’s Place. We’ve only known one another for a little over a month, but we’ve clicked amazingly well. Her blog is a motivational one where she explores topics of love, peace, joy and yes, motivation. I’ve yet to make a guest post there, but feel free to stop by her blog and see what all she’s been up to there.

I am also celebrating 11 installments to my Noir-style Mystery, The Stacked Deck. I am having a great time with my lead character, Jack Diamond. He’s a hard-nosed PI and ex-cop with a passion for Italian women. Feel free to stop by and have a read. Each part is a quick read, none over 1500 words.

And finally, I am celebrating the return of Spring! We’ve had gloriously sunshiny days in the high 70s here in Virginia the past few days. The nights have been in the high 50s and I’ve been sleeping with the window open. Probably hasn’t helped this cold/allergy thing I have going on, but the cool night air sure feels good on my burning feet.

It’s time for more coffee and more writing… Will see you all next week for more celebrations!

What are you celebrating this week, dear readers? Feel free to share with me in comments.
