For today’s #joyfuljan, I find joy in the warmth of a wood stove.
It is quite chilly today with rain fall. My father is keeping watch over our wood-burning stove and keeping the house nice and cozy warm. As a heat source, for me, there is nothing quite like the heat from burning wood. No gas or electrical heater can give off that kind of warmth. And the smell.. oh that smell! Since I’d been away from home for 20+ years, and coming back here in Oct of 2014, it was the first time I’d been around a wood stove in all of those years. I rejoiced in the warmth and the smell, just as I rejoice in it now.
